One simple way to reduce junk mail is to write your shopping lists down on your phone or reusable paper. Reusable is the paper that you have only used one side of. By doing this quick step you can save a perfectly good piece of paper. Another way to reduce the waste of paper is send an e-card. These are cards that are sent by e-mail to the person you wish. Even though your mantel will not fill with cards I have some other ways to bring the holiday cheer. You can recycle paper to make all kinds of decorations; from ornaments to flowers there is always a way to bring the life of the holidays to your house. Here are some ideas: Menorah, Paper Roses , Snowflake Patterns, but for all of the templates, make sure to print out on reused paper. After the presents are opened you can make recycled beads out of the wrappings. I find this project the coolest because you can create quick and easy New Year's gifts.
Our paper is a big problem because it is cutting down trees for millions of animals that need the trees to survive. Although humans are creating the problem, are also creative enough to find the solution to our paper dilemma. So, be encouraged as the Holidays come and go to reduce, reuse and recycle.
